Both the St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros have had a similar trajectory as both teams came into the year as preseason favorites to win their respective division, yet both have severely underwhelmed at this point of the season. Since a poor start to their year, both the Astros and Cardinals have managed to climb back up their division standings after a hot stretch of play. The Cardinals are now second in the NL Central while the Astros are third in the AL West standings. Speaking of the Astros, they have been a popular team in our daily YRFI series as their top of the order is as lethal as it gets. Backed behind Jose Altuve, the surging MVP contender Kyle Tucker, and the always dangerous Yordan Alvarez, the Astros offense can put up points in a hurry. The Astros come into the contest ranked above league average in Team Total Hits, On Base Percentage, Runs Scored, and RBIs. They are now in a great position to start the scoring early against a Cardinals defense who ranks bottom-6 in Defensive Efficiency and a weak arm in Andre Pallante on the mound. Pallante is a rotational pitcher for the Cardinals, only making one start in his 16 Innings Pitched so far this season. Pallante comes into the contest with an ERA of 3.94, a WHIP of 1.563, 17 Hits Allowed, and 7 Earned Runs Against. As for who the Cardinals offense will face, we once again fade Spencer Arrighetti who has severely underperformed as one of the Astros starting pitchers. Arrighetti has been a routine fade target as he has an inability to keep opposing batters off the bases as his WHIP of 1.649 indicates. Arrighetti also possesses an ERA of 5.98, 49 Total Hits Allowed, and 29 Earned Runs against in 9 games started. Bet on Over 0.5 Run (-108) at FanDuel
Cincinnati Reds vs. Colorado Rockies - Frankie Montas vs. Ty Blach (8:40 PM, EST)
Over 0.5 Run (-138) at FanDuel
Shortly after the conclusion of our first YRFI of the day, our next one gets underway when the Cincinnati Reds offense looks to build some momentum in the friendliest hitting park in the league against the Colorado Rockies. The Reds offense have severely underwhelmed this early in the season, ranking well below league average in Team Total Hits, On Base Percentage, RBIs, and Runs Scored. An oddity for a unit that excelled last season, coming into this one poised to take a leap with their production off the backs of their exciting young core. While that has yet to be the case, they now get the chance to turn it around against the Rockies rotational pitcher Ty Blach. Blach comes into the contest with an ERA of 4.15, a WHIP of 1.269, 37 Hits Allowed, and 16 Earned Runs Against in 8 games played. As for the Rockies offense, positive regression looms large for a team who ranks above league average in Team Total Hits yet below in Runs Scored and RBIs. Regression may swing towards their way as they now get the chance to string together more consistent hits against the Reds struggling pitcher Frankie Montas who also struggles to keep runners off the bases. Montas comes into the contest with an ERA of 4.60 and a WHIP of 1.404. Bet on Over 0.5 Run (-138) at FanDuel
