Andres Gimenez, Will Brennan, and a few others have also had considerable success against Singer. Semien is one of those hitters who has had past success against Maeda, going 3 for 5 with a home run against him. That might sound like a small sample, but Semien also has a five-game hitting streak, going 8 for 18 with four walks during that stretch. He figures to get on base against Maeda, putting him in a position to score a run, especially since the hitters behind him also have a strong track record against Maeda.
